I have used a wiki prior to this in the TPTE 486 course, but I don’t believe it was on this site. I’ve always been weary of counting on other people to do their part, but both sections came through (in creating the front page and organizing themselves in the contact page). In this particular wiki, I learned about may useful tools that I may be able to use in the classroom. Animaps was a very interesting tool, though difficult to use. I’d love to be able to make it work, but it seems that I’ll have to spend a little more time with it. Tagxedo and Blabberizer could be interesting things to use in the classroom as well. I also hope to be able to master Dipity (or get it to accept dates BCE) to use in powerpoints and visualize timelines for students.
I don’t believe I’ll be able to use a class wiki in my classroom. Computers are not readily available for checkout everyday, and less than 1/2 of the students in the school have internet access at home.
